MotoMan drives the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne Speed in Southern Germany and Austria. However, to demonstrate the importance of the engineering changes, he swaps the hot rod version of the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne – the Bentley Mulsanne Speed – for the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne Signature. In doing so he unpacks the go fast bits assembled here – like larger bushings and adjustable engine mounts – and their very different purpose in the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne – all the while on the very wet roads of Austria. But as much as he tries to focus on driving dynamics, MotoMan couldn’t help but let his inner frustrated designer come out to discuss the details . . . After all, this is a Bentley . . .

The Scenic comes with seven different engine options (two petrol and five diesel) and, even a hybrid option! Even the infotainment display is slightly unique, as it’s mounted portrait instead of landscape. Find out more about the new Renault Scenic before it hits the market in our brand new 4k video. My latest unboxing video is here… the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon! I’m really excited to talk about this because I’m originally from Toledo, Ohio – the home of the Jeep Wrangler for decades. The Wrangler Unlimited is, of course, the four-door version and it’s the one I’d prefer to have for several reasons, which I’ll discuss in this video.

Currently, all Wranglers come powered by a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can get either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. So why do so many people buy Wranglers? Because off-roading and rock crawling. In many ways, the Wrangler is the all-American SUV and its timeless design has never looked better.

The new Rolls-Royce Dawn is exceptionally crafted, beautiful to drive and stunning to look at. The engine is a gem and it’s even quite practical – with room for four adults. The fact remains that very few people will ever be in a position to justify a £265,000 drop-top Rolls-Royce, but for those who can, the Dawn is quite simply in a class of its own.

News Editor Richard Ingram gets behind the wheel of the ‘epicly quiet’ Dawn convertible.

The Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 anticipates the mobility demands of the luxury customer of the future. Brought to life by Rolls-Royce after many months of study and consultation with current patrons of the brand, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 represents their clearly expressed desire for an assurance that the marque’s plans for the future of luxury personal mobility will continue to embody the key attributes that have made Rolls-Royce the preferred marque of the most discerning and powerful patrons in the world for over a Century.

With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100, the brand provides just such an assurance to its valued customers – present and future. It makes a bold and definitive statement of confidence in a future where Rolls-Royce rejects the notion of anonymous, utilitarian and bland future modes of mobility. Through an intimate understanding of its customers’ thinking and their demands in the future, Rolls-Royce presents an exciting and highly appealing vision of effortless, autonomous, spacious and beautiful luxury mobility, Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 as personal as each individual customer.
For Rolls-Royce, the end of production of the seventh generation Rolls-Royce Phantom – considered by aficionados to be “the best car in the world” – represents the completion of the first phase of the Rolls-Royce brand’s renaissance under BMW Group custodianship. The success of Rolls-Royce Phantom, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Rolls-Royce Wraith and now Rolls-Royce Dawn serves as the foundation for a bold new chapter.

This highly successful era for Rolls-Royce, the world’s most celebrated luxury brand has been driven by a restless commitment to always looking forward.

In this spirit, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 is presented – a truly revolutionary, highly authentic exploration of the future of Rolls-Royce luxury mobility. Rolls-Royce Vision provides a fully authentic look into the potential demands and desires of the wealthy connoisseur of the future.
The Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100
Rolls-Royce intimately understands its patrons and their likely desires and motivations in the future. The Rolls-Royce Vision designers therefore distilled four key tenets that not only underpin the elegant solution that is the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100, but epitomise the future of luxury mobility as a whole:

• The Rolls-Royce Personal Vision
• The Rolls-Royce Effortless Journey
• The Rolls-Royce Grand Sanctuary
• The Rolls-Royce Grand Arrival

In presenting the new Rolls-Royce concept car, Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100, the marque has rejected the common notion that the future of personal transport is a utilitarian and functional one. Rolls-Royce autonomous car has stepped bravely into the future to propose a no-compromise, fully autonomous, coachbuilt, personalised Rolls-Royce vision to those customers who wish for an emotional attachment to their Rolls-Royce. This reasoning led them to the first key tenet: The Personal Rolls-Royce Vision.
In the spirit of the great coachbuilt cars of the past, Rolls-Royce will create the chassis of the future, hand-built from the most advanced materials and powered by a zero emissions powertrain. Advanced manufacturing technologies will enable customers to involve themselves even more in the design of the shape, size and silhouette of their personal Rolls-Royce vision. The Rolls-Royce Vision future customer will commission his or her own concept. Rolls Royce will design and manufacture this personal vision of each customer and make every Rolls-Royce a unique Rolls-Royce Bespoke masterpiece.

In short, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 utilises envisioned advances in technology to herald the return to authentic coachbuilding. Rolls-Royce Self Driving Car Concept Vision 100

The Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 is the vision of the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars design team, led by Director of Design Giles Taylor. Their deep understanding of the Rolls-Royce customer of the future.
“The Rolls-Royce patron will continue to be a famous figure in the future,” explains Taylor. I envision that the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 will play a key role in these people’s lives.”
The Rolls-Royce Vision Effortless Journey, the Rolls-Royce Vision Grand Sanctuary and the Rolls-Royce Vision Grand Arrival. The next three tenets and hallmarks of the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100. The 2015 Lotus Elise S Club Racer is currently the fastest and most powerful Elise you can buy in Australia, and it’s purpose built for the track, which is where we’re heading today… we’ve just go to get through the city first.

The Lotus Elise is famous for its agility and supercar-rivalling performance. Unfortunately, it’s also notoriously difficult to get in to.

Now, you’ve got to swing one leg in first, then your bum, then your other leg. Let’s see how this goes… Well that wasn’t too bad actually.

Inside, well, ‘basic’ is putting it lightly (pardon the pun). There’s lots of hard, scratchy plastic surfaces, a four-speaker Alpine stereo, there’s no glove box and there’s not really an ideal place to put your phone.

There is a plastic cut-out and a cargo net behind the seats but frankly, there’s not a lot going on in here. But it’s a Lotus, and that’s kind of the whole point.

On the driver’s right-hand side sitting right next to their knee, the key still sits in an ignition barrel, even though now, there’s an engine start button.

First launched back in 1996, the Lotus Elise has long been respected as a brilliant bit of kit – on track that is. On the road, things are less positive.

It’s stiff, bumpy and very loud in here. Vision out isn’t great and it feels properly small on the road – even city cars feel like SUVs when you’re driving this thing.

The seat is hard and mostly uncomfortable and the only thing heavier than the clutch is the unassisted steering, particularly at low speeds. I just hope we have a bit more fun on the track…

Oh thank god, we are here.

Now, rather than putting a big engine into a heavy chassis, the clever Brits at Lotus have always followed the ideology of ‘adding lightness’. That means back here, there’s a 1.8-litre four-cylinder Toyota engine. Supercharged for good measure, it puts out 162kW and 250Nm. There’s also room back there for 112 litres of storage space.

All that power gets sent straight to the rear wheels via a ‘proper’ six-speed manual transmission.

Now, let’s get out there…

Now, the Lotus Elise has always been a pommy kit car offering supercar performance for less than supercar coin. And while $84,990 is still a fair amount of buck, it is hard to argue with this sort of bang.

The little Lotus will do 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and pretty much anything else you ask it to do.

It is so sharp and so responsive. The engine’s punchy and picks up. You can hear the supercharger doing its thing in the back as well.

There’s loads of grip, but its still got enough power that you can just have a little bit of fun, get a little bit of angle if you want it, which is always a good thing.

It’s not shy of a top speed but those brakes are nice and solid underfoot. And it just sits so flat through the corners. It is an absolute blast this thing.

The Lotus Elise S Club Racer is not the ideal car for families – it doesn’t have fold-down rear seats. Well, it doesn’t have rear seats at all. It’s not the most comfortable or practical thing either. But out here on track, it is in its element, and little of that stuff matters.

If everyday track-day excitement is what you’re after, then frankly, there are few cars better.

The all-new 10th generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class has arrived and brings not only a sharp new look and range of efficient engines, but a staggering array of technology that may cement the new Mercedes as the most advanced passenger car on the road.

We drive the E300 – a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 180kW and 370Nm. It isn’t the most powerful engine in the range but it pulls well and handles urban and highway cruising duties well.

All models in the new E-Class line up receive the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission.

The new E-Class features a wide -screen high-resolution digital dashboard which can be controlled by thumb pads on the steering wheel. The car has a semi-autonomous driving mode and a host of accident avoidance awareness technology.

The new 2016 E-Class will land in Australia in mid-2016 and we can’t wait to get a closer look at the new Mercedes on local soil.

http://www.caradvice.com.au/445741/2016-alfa-romeo-giulia-quadrifoglio-review/?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=YT_DESC – Read the article here.

The all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifolglio isn’t just Alfa’s new halo car, but the culmination of a multi-billion dollar investment to relaunch the storied Italian carmaker.

Key attributes of the Alfa brand have always been style, handling and performance, and the Quadrifoglio has all three well and truly covered.

Underpinned by a new lightweight rear-wheel drive architecture packing a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine developing a big-league output of 375kW of power and 600Nm of torque – significantly up on the rival BMW M3.

Performance is scintillating. Alfa claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds, and back to zero in 32 metres when equipped with carbon ceramic brakes. Tope speed is said to be north of 305km/h.

That investment shows, too. The high-powered Giulia Quadrifoglio boasts its fare share of exotic materials and performance-enhancing technology.

The chassis is a combination of aluminium and steel, while the standard 19-inch alloy wheels are adjoined by a double wishbone suspension up front and a multilink system at the rear – most of which is aluminium. There’s more of the lightweight metal used for the guards and doors, but the roof and bonnet are fashioned from carbon-fibre.

The Quadrifoglio tips the scales at a rival-crushing weight of just 1524 kilograms. By way of comparison, the M3 with dual-clutch transmission weighs 1560kg, while the Mercedes-AMG 63S weighs in at a hefty 1800kg.

You’re probably curious as to why Alfa opted for a torque-converter automatic gearbox over a dual-clutch unit. Apparently, there wasn’t an appropriate transmission available, which coincided with the Giulia’s development schedule. Nonetheless, the engineers at Alfa’s historic proving grounds at Balocco, where we’ve come to put this car through it’s paces, announce confidently that “you will see its very good.”

They’re not kidding. I’ve dialled up the Race setting on on the Giulia’s rotary drive mode selector, and I’m punching it through the gears down the fastest section of this facility.
