It is time for the newest instalment in that beloved cinematic automotive YouTube experience where we film practical cars that can be bought for less than £1,000 in a manner befitting of their inexpensive value! This may go horribly wrong…

This time we examine a very rare 1997 Daewoo Nexia 1.5 GLXi five door, and I start getting far too nostalgic and excited for very little reason. Be prepared for scintillating performance from a Twin Cam 16V Family I engine, slogan quotations, unique marketing, a selection of cassettes, very low mileage, quite a nasty gearlever gaiter, much too much enthusiasm about a facelifted version of a South Korean made Vauxhall Astra Mark II and generally little of any consequence at all… Nothing untoward, then!

As an independent vehicle consultant, I take potential buyers through the whole car buying process from choosing a make and model to a vehicle handover and road tax. In addition to information on this service, I also have a selection of written and video reviews of cars that I have owned, hired, borrowed or have somehow come into my possession. Please use the Contact Me page on my website to get in touch, visit my Facebook page for latest updates and share this video if you like it! Thank you for watching.

Well, I guess this is really Part Two, as I first bought this car two months ago! That was after managing to track it down, for this is the very Daewoo Matiz that I brought brand new from a branch of Halfords in August 1999! T725 LBD. Any other former owners out there?

In this video, we battle non-available hoses and duff batteries, before I go on a tour of former haunts, then meet up with a friend to drive a giant swan.

Howard Stableford puts three contenders to the test for the best small city car title – the Seat Arosa, the Fiat Seicento and the Daewoo Matiz. Plus we look at the build quality of each vehicle as well as the potential resale value if you were looking to make your money at some point.
