Corvette Review

2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Review. This C8 Corvette review was filmed on the roads without the Z51 Package and on the track with the C8 Corvette Z51 package. The C8 Corvette is pumping out 495hp and 470lb-ft tq from a 6.2L V8. At $58,900, would this be your pick over the Porsche Cayman, Porsche Boxster, Toyota Supra, McLaren GT, McLaren 570S, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Huracan, Audi R8, Acura NSX?

Thomas and James finally get behind the wheel of the much anticipated 2020 C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, with Z51 Package (performance exhaust, tightened suspension, larger Brembo brakes, and an electronic limited-slip differential) and a bunch of other added extras. At an MSRP of over 100K Canadian, could this be the best performance bargain on sale? Does it render a Supra useless? For that matter, is it a supercar killer? Watch to find out. Subscribe!

It’s the first mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette and it will also be the first to be available in the UK in right-hand drive. So we sent Steve Sutcliffe to the… er, the USA to drive it.

Up until now, the only 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray we drove had a bunch of options and the Z51 Performance Package, which added nearly $25,000 to the car’s starting price: $85,000. Ouch. The mid-engine 2020 Vette was good even at that price, but what’s this car like at its shockingly low and much-touted entry-level price? We drove a 2020 Corvette 1LT, the base model, to review — and if you really need anything more than a $60,000 Vette.

We finally get our hands on the new mid-engine 2020 Corvette Stingray. In this video review of the Corvette C8, Kurt Niebuhr walks us through the interior, the results from our test track and what it’s like to drive.

With a mid-engine design and low price, the 2020 Corvette C8 promises a lot. Fortunately, it delivers. The C8 is enormous fun to drive on mountain roads, quick on our test track and comfortable on the daily commute. This Corvette is a true working-class sports car that makes us question the value of costlier competition.

For 2020, the Corvette has undergone the most radical redesign in its 67-year history. Believing that they had squeezed every ounce of performance they could from the Corvette’s classic front-engine and rear-drive layout, Chevrolet’s engineers decided a new mid-engine layout was the way to go for its inherent advantages in weight distribution. Risky? Yes. But the result is hugely impressive.

It’s rare to see a car, let alone an institution like the Corvette, so radically transformed. But Chevrolet has taken its performance icon and improved it in nearly every way. It’s bonkers fast, handles beautifully, and still manages traffic and daily errands. The styling may be controversial, but its price and performance certainly are not.

In terms of performance, the Corvette C8 equals or outshines cars costing two to three times as much. The new 6.2-liter V8 and dual-clutch automatic transmission combo is formidable on the track but offers plenty of oomph and smooth operation in nearly any condition. The new Corvette also imparts more information about its handling balance and grip, thereby giving its driver more confidence in taking the car up to its handling limits.

As with past Corvettes, the C8 is practical for both daily driving and long trips. Although the total cargo area isn’t as usable as before, it’s still large enough to fit a few pieces of luggage. There’s still space for the coupe’s removable targa roof panel top in the rear, and the lack of an engine up front means there’s a small frunk in the nose. The new interior has a sharp, driver-focused design and fine materials throughout. A Corvette convertible is on its way, too.

It’s easy to be impressed by the new Corvette C8. Its performance rivals that of more expensive sports cars, yet the Corvette is still everyday comfortable and practical. But it’s the performance that amazes the most with easily explorable yet considerable limits. The transformation has been nothing short of shocking.

I review the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette with it’s mid-engine design and supercar performance. It’s starting price of just $59,995 makes it one of the best sports car bargains the world has ever seen. With a blazing fast 2.9 second 0-60 time, and excellent handling, this standard C8 Corvette is already more performance than most people will ever be able to use on the street. Add in the dramatic looks and great sound, and you have a car that everyone else on the street will admire as well. What do you think of the mid-engine Corvette C8? Huge thanks to Chevy for providing me with this opportunity to drive the 2020 Corvette!

Chevy’s show car has impressed me once again! The C7 Corvette has been a goal of mine for a few years, and this test drive made me love it even more! With 455 horsepower it was quite the experience, even if it’s not their top of the line model. Huge thanks to Royal Chevrolet for allowing me to review this awesome car, and thank you all for watching!

The Japanese have legends like the Supra,Evo,STI, NSX and more. The Europeans have the Italian supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan,Ferrari 488 GTB, and much more. However, in the American corner is the brute force of legends like the Ford GT,Dodge Hellcat, Dodge Demon, and Shelby GT350R. Out of the darkness in it’s orange coat of paint is the brand new 2019 Corvette ZR1 – a car that literally melts your face off with it’s acceleration and g forces. When it comes to being in depth with Corvettes, they have an incredible history. However this is not like any other Corvette ever made. Let’s go on a ride. Thanks for watching!
