The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester is built on the same platform as the Impreza, Crosstrek and Ascent. The 2019 Subaru Forester compact SUV is slightly longer, wider and with a longer wheelbase. This offers more space on the inside for rear seat passengers and the design of the rear hatch and cargo area is squarer and wider for much more space. The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester crossover has room for 5-passengers over two rows. The Forester already had wonderful functionality and now the rear has more legroom, the front seats are wider and more comfortable with more attention to soft touch surfaces and detail. The New Forester utility vehicle has either a 6.5-inch display audio system or 8-inch unit with standard Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Eyesight is back and standard on the Forester. The X-Mode terrain setting has now expanded to include a D, or Deep snow and mud setting allowing the traction control to be turned off enabling the wheels to spin for things like getting out of a snow bank. The engine now has 12 more HP at 182 with 2lb-ft. more torque. Gone is the turbo model and the Forester is no longer available with a manual transmission. The CVT has a 10% greater ratio range for better launch and high speed cruising. The fuel efficiency numbers have not been published but expect the 2019 Subaru Forester to get better fuel economy thanks to the CVT and the addition of direct injection.

Ben V says:

It looks so good. It's too bad they dropped the XT model or I'd be buying one of these in a heartbeat.

benjamin lin says:

do u know when they
Sell foresters 2019?

Anterior Pelvic Tilt says:

"It's longer, it's wider, it's ever so slightly shorter."??? Make up your mind dude.

fleuger99 says:

Subaru cannot make a nice looking vehicle. This is no exception, looks like a Tonka Toy. Another Subaru I won't be looking at.

nova123 says:

its okay us forester xt guys have the 04-08 the best years to play with. throw in a aftermarket head unit that does all these things will do just fine.

billy fatbowe says:

…WHEELS ON THE RIGHT AND MILLIMETERS…..NOPE…….;;–),,,,,,,,,,,,

Ms Kimlo says:

I love it. Will miss manual though.

That American Sailor says:

I really want to love the new 2019 Rav4 but common Toyota really only Apple car play??? Which is now making me second guess to brands like Hyundai, Subaru, Kia, Chevy, and even Buick, etc. And yes even Honda and Nissan instead….

Dinesh Ratnasingam says:

My wife has 2014 Subaru Forester XT. We drove the regular version back then felt it was under powered. Was looking forward to the new one so we can replace our current XT. Non turbo model only is a deal breaker.

Elise DeRosa says:

Don't buy it then people! It's that easy…

Proxima One says:

A car brand needs a halo model aka XT, I own a 5 speed manual 2011 XT, what a great car! Please don’t neglect your car enthusiast owners Subaru. Don’t end up like Honda!

Yemelian Fabrichnikov says:

Why it still doesn't have parktronics? Why there are no hood dumpers? Is there an option for Qi wireless charger? C'mon Subaru, It's 21st century! This SUV is obviously stuck in 20th..

Matt Brewster says:

I'm confused. Is it longer or shorter? :/

John Strand says:

Major Boredom. Ho Hum. If you have to brag about 184 Horsepower, you have nothing to brag about.

Yakf15h says:

Glad that I bought my 2017 Forester Premium, before this comes

X V says:

"It's longer." "It's ever so slightly shorter." Uh…

Dany Filion says:

Hey Motormouth i love the reviews I am torn between a fully loaded Premier Forester or a nicely equipped Volvo XC40 Momentum, what do you think?

hurricane watcher says:

Now add the XT turbo and you have a great vehicle. No turbo, no dice

Thomas Lage says:

0:46 Longer, wider, and ever so slightly shorter? Which is it? Longer or shorter?

Easten fisherman says:

I'm a Japanese. Two month ago,I bought this new one.

It's not noisy and very quiet.

Usually, it use 6.4l gasoline for 100km.

bonsai J says:

After lots of homework, I'm sure I've made the right choice with the 2018 toyota rav4 2.5l none turbo with the 6 speed auto trans. I'm all about the reliability, durability and longevity with some good looks without spending a small fortune after 3 to 5 years to keep it going. The latest tech. / bells & whistles, glamor and saving a few dollars a year on fuel with small turbo engines and CVT's won't have me buying a vehicle that I'm going to have to spend a small fortune on after 3 to 5 years!

Trumpenstein says:

The Turbo's blew up engines. Lower profile is good, but does it help the cornering sway? Im annoyed by the sway in my '14 Forester. I hope this REALLY has been improved. I don't see how putting a higher HP engine improves gas mileage. Please explain that one. The mileage estimates are BS anyway. In order to get the estimates you MUST drive at the optimal fuel efficiency speed which is around 62mph in mine, and you MUST use the 0W-20 (baby) oil. If I drive like a normal Californian, 80 on the highway, and aggressive in the city, I get about 23mpg. If I granny foot the thing, I can get 28.

Red Pill For Real says:

they should've made it look more like the 1st gen forester and provided option for manual

Ppp Ppp says:

Cargo space was not as spacious as xtrail

Nicola Taylor says:

Does it drink oil like an off duty sailor?

OPA Extreme says:

Need to know if the extra power and set up will at least be kinda o.k for power now ? 0-60 ? and 50-70kms/hr are numbers I'd like to know, for passing power, etc… fuel economy was already good enough, it needs to be around 8sec. 0-6 and in the lower 5's from 50-70, to be an o.k. power/economy balance… otherwise it's off my shopping list, with no XT model.

BusyBeeCompany says:

Problem with subaru, I'm 6ft 2 inches and my head scrapes off the roof when I'm in the passenger seat…every one of the range is tiny for the passager…k was told it's because women tend to be the passenger..but a nice height adjustable passenger seat would have had me buy this over the cx5 which does have enough head room.

Austin Rice says:

I don't know why Subaru's sales are doing so well. They make the ugliest fucking cars on the market. I mean you'll enjoy buying anything else much more, ANYTHING. Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda kill newer Subarus with one punch. It's sad because they made some nice and innovative cars in the early 2000's.

WhatWho Me says:

I found the current Forester to be too cramped for me. This 2019 model may be the way to go.
